We are dedicated to training and launching young people into the nations
Our story
Home to nearly 200 local and international staff and students
In 1989, Gerrit and Celeste Wolfhaart heard the call of God to pioneer YWAM Muizenberg. God had lead them to search for an urban area where they could gather the youth of the world to reach the nations. In their hearts was the vision of a unified people from every tribe and tongue, serving God together in a time where that was considered unacceptable.
From the beginning, YWAM Muizenberg was a diverse, innovative base, founded on the values of reconciliation, training and pioneering. Gerrit and Celeste left behind them a base that seeks to show the love of Jesus in everything we do, and a legacy of people determined to stand strong in the diversity and unity that they fought for.

About us
We are a multi-cultural base spreading the love of Jesus through trainings and ministries
Our campus
Our base is located in the heart of Muizenberg
What is unique about our campus is that we don’t exist in isolation from our neighbours. We are located in the heart of Muizenberg itself, which means that our volunteers, staff, and students get to interact with the community and experience the vibrant life of Muizenberg.
Main Base
Our main Base, the building that has been the center of activity in YWAM Muizenberg for years, is a refurbished old hotel. Inside the base, you can find dormitories, classrooms, the kitchen, the dining area, the prayer room, Lekker Brew cafe, the Boutique, the sunroom, and a courtyard where staff and students can relax.

Lekker Brew
Lekker Brew cultivates community over high-quality, ethically sourced coffee. Whether you're craving a hot or cold beverage, it's the perfect spot to connect with others while enjoying your favorite drink.

The Prayer Room
The prayer room is a dedicated space set apart for the Lord, made for intimate encounters with God. Whether you come for personal devotions, worship, or quiet reflection, this is a space where you can seek and rest in His presence.

Ubuntu
Ubuntu comes from the Zulu phrase, "I am because we are." Meaning we are a community connected together. Here at our Ubuntu Centre we gather for classes, community worship and other events happening weekly. You can also find our Media Office located right in this building.

The Rock
The Rock came about when a former SBS leader was feeling the need for more space for the Biblical department to grow. When he was walking around Muizenberg praying and asking God where he should go, he stumbled across the Rock. The Rock is the classroom where the School of Biblical Studies takes place. It also hosts YWAM Muizenberg’s Biblical Department offices.
